Cidrerie Milton – Eastern Townships
The ideal destination for cider-loving vanlifers ! Cidrerie Milton is truly one of our favorite gourmet experiences of the season. 🍎 Thanks to their tastings, we discover new products every time we visit, and their huge boutique is always stocked with an impressive variety of ready-to-eat and sweet treats perfect for van suppers.
The pick-your-own orchard offers one of the most beautiful views in the region. You can sleep in your van on site, facing Mount Yamaska, which is perfectly positioned to enjoy a breathtaking sunset. It’s a popular spot for vanlifers, offering the chance to meet new people in an enchanting setting. You can visit them year-round, as their activities change with the seasons ! 🍂
Un Goût de miel – Centre-du-Québec
Rarely have we met someone as passionate as owner Nathalie with her bees ! 🐝 Un goût de miel was born in January 2020 and combines herbalism, beehives, gardens and cuisine for an immersive, gustatory experience. Please make the most of it by sleeping on-site with your van surrounded by a large mature forest and next to a stream.
Food cooked on-site is a must. We were lucky enough to sample their delicious-tasting platter filled with absolutely delicious foods and products. It featured a succulent marriage of onion confit, sweet potato pate, sourdough bread, fresh salad and a cold drink brewed on the premises.
To fully immerse yourself in the world of bees, we suggest you take part in the “How does a beehive work?“ micro adventure, which includes a tasting of the honey produced on-site. It’s impossible to leave this sweet-tooth paradise without a jar of honey or a candle for the road. 🍯 Stop by their self-service kiosk open from May to October !
Verger Kessler – Eastern Townships
Fall isn’t official until you’ve been to an orchard ! Located in Farnham, Verger Kessler is the perfect place for a family day out during the colorful season. Tested and approved by Zak, our 3-year-old boy, their playground with mini-farm and tractor ride are sure to please your little ones aged 0 to 10 approximately. 🚜
The family business is established on a 28-hectare estate and offers U-pick of over twenty varieties of apples, as well as plums and pears. It’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on croustades, pies and jams. And don’t leave without trying their apple slush and caramel-apple coulis, a pure delight ! 😋 Pick-your-own is available from August to October, and their boutique is open year-round for their homemade products.
Domaine & Vin Gélinas – Mauricie
It’s impossible to tour an agritourism experience without stopping at a vineyard ! 🍇 Located in Saint-Sévère in the Mauricie region, Domaine & Vins Gélinas welcomes you to an enchanting site with over 45,000 vines. This family-run business produces 9 varieties and bottles nearly 45,000 bottles a year !
We were charmed by their enormous estate, where it’s a pleasure to walk through the vines and flowers. In our opinion, the location is ideal for an event or a wedding ! During our stay, we were able to taste the full range of their wines, presented by passionate winemakers in a perfectly rural atmosphere. 🍷 It’s also possible to taste their spirits and eat on the terrace of their bistro. As it’s possible to sleep in a van on the vineyard, the place is a perfect destination for vanlife ! Their doors are open from May to December, with opening hours and services varying according to the season.
La Vieille Ferme – Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean
Located in a unique area bordering the Saguenay Fjord, La Vieille Ferme is a destination par excellence for families on the go. On-site, you’ll find a responsible sheep farm, a small market, gardens, an organic orchard and a comfortable eco-lodge where you can spend the night (why not make a change from the van to recharge your batteries ! ). 🏡 We know that this place will become a favorite for everyone, so much so that it’s appreciated by the locals !
We suggest you discover the site on our free discovery trail, which takes you around the facilities and introduces you to the animals. Then, head to the magnificent p’tit marché (self-service counter) to stock up on their delicious products, featuring their specialty: fjord lamb. 🐑 Enjoy their rillettes in happy hour mode as you watch the sunset over the breathtaking landscape – a must ! Their self-service boutique is open year-round, every day during the summer and on weekends from November onwards.
