The Association de l’Agrotourisme et du Tourisme Gourmand du Québec (AATGQ) is committed to protect the confidentiality, security and accuracy of the personal information that it collects, uses or discloses in conformity with all applicable laws and regulations. We have established this Policy to protect privacy in order to inform you of our practices in regard to the personal information gathered during your visit to our website.`

You may refuse or withdraw your consent by contacting us.

1. Type of personal information collected

The types of personal information that we may collect from you include: your name, your address, your phone number, your email address, information about payment methods (for booking purposes), and information about bookings (dates, number of people, rooms, etc.). In addition, from time to time, information about your interests, your occupation, your age group, your preferences for trips or when travelling, etc.

2. Reasons for collecting your personal information

We collect your personal information for the following reasons:

(a) To provide the service or information you have requested
If you enter a contest offered through one of our Web sites, we use your personal information to manage the contest on our own behalf or on behalf of our sponsors.

(b) To process a payment
Credit information is used solely to process payments and not for marketing purposes.

(c) To send you information
With your consent or in conformity with the applicable laws, from time to time, we may send you more detailed information about anything that’s new with us, our promotions or our network.

(d) To gather your opinions, evaluation reports, questions and comments
Should you wish to publish an opinion or send us a dissatisfaction report on one of the establishments listed on our Web sites, or send us questions or comments, we use your personal information to publish your opinion (online evaluation) on our Web sites, ensure appropriate follow-up on your dissatisfaction report, and respond to your questions or comments.

(e) Other purposes
In addition, from time to time we may use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • to understand your needs and preferences with your consent or in conformity with the applicable laws, to communicate with you and carry out surveys, research and evaluations
for any other purpose that we may indicate to you.
3. Disclosing your personal information

We may disclose your personal information to third parties under the following circumstances:

(a) Disclosure to service providers

We may disclose your personal information to other companies that provide services on our behalf, such as our software designers (including our Web site designers and hosts), as well as the providers of data processing and document management services.

(b) Disclosure to commercial partners

From time to time, with authorization, we may offer our customer lists to other carefully selected organizations that would like you to know about a product or service likely to interest you. Before providing your name and address (including your email address), we review the documents that would be sent to you to make sure that the organization is trustworthy and that the documents involved are appropriate and do not contain any misleading information.

(c) Disclosure in virtue of the law

The AATGQ may disclose your personal information to a government body that has validated its legitimate authority to obtain the information or when the AATGQ has reason to believe that the information could be useful in an investigation involving an illegal activity, or to comply with a subpoena, a warrant or an order issued by a court, an individual or an appropriate organization requiring that the information be presented, or to comply with a court decision concerning the presentation of information dossiers. The AATGQ may also disclose your personal information to its legal advisor.

4. Controlling your personal information

The AATGQ wants you to be able to control the way in which we use your personal information.
If you prefer that we NOT disclose your personal information as described in Article 3, you just need to let us know (see Article 12).
Email communications (see Article 2C) will always include the sender’s identification as well as the option to “Unsubscribe”.

5. Storing your personal information

Your personal information is stored in secure locations as well as on the servers in our own offices and those of our service providers. Access is thus controlled by the AATGQ. These servers are located in a secure vault safe from human access and are protected against theft and against hackers by a firewall that meets industry standards.

6. Protecting your personal information

We make every reasonable effort to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of the personal information under our control. Digital access to your personal information is by means of a security platform to which only people authorized by the AATGQ have access by means of a user name and password. When personal information is sent to a third party for processing, we make sure that your personal information remains secure. We keep your personal information for the period during which we provide a service and for a reasonable period of time.

Credit information is sent in the form of an encrypted email message, which guarantees the confidentiality of the information contained in the message. As a consequence, this message cannot be intercepted, altered or decoded by an intermediary. The AATGQ uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology, which means that your transactions are always secure. When you access the page asking you for credit information, your Web browser displays a message stating that the page you have asked for is protected, and that the information you send on this page will be encrypted during transmission to ensure confidentiality. The Web address of this page will begin with ‘https’ and a small padlock is displayed. Once the banking transaction has been completed, the AATGQ does not keep any digital data about the transaction concerning credit information. This is why you need to re-submit your credit information for each new transaction.

7. Protecting privacy and our Web sites

As stated in Article 2, the AATGQ sometimes gathers personal information through its various Web sites. The present clause contains further information concerning the collection of personal information.

(a) Use of small data files called cookies

When a visitor accesses the AATGQ Web sites, we may use a browser device called a “cookie”. A cookie is a small text file containing a unique identification number that identifies the visitor’s browser (without necessarily identifying the user) for our computers each time our Web sites are visited in order to track traffic patterns. Cookies are harmless and they allow us only to collect information such as the type of browser and the operating system the visitor is using, the domain names of the Web sites he or she visits, the date and duration of the visit, the number of visits, the average amount of time spent on our Web sites, the pages consulted and the number of cookies accumulated.

Unless the visitor tells us expressly (for example, by subscribing to our services or by sending us a message from one of our Web sites), we do not know the identity of the visitor. Apart from the specific purposes described in our Privacy Policy, we may use the information about traffic patterns drawn from our Web sites and share it with other organizations with which we conduct business, in order to measure how and when our Web sites are used and thereby improve their features and their content.
The use of cookies is now an industry standard, and most major sites use them in order to serve their customers better. Most browsers are designed to accept cookies, but you can modify your preferences to refuse them. However, when a visitor refuses cookies, he or she may be unable to use certain features or benefits offered on our Web sites.

(b) Communications by email

Occasionally, if we have your consent in conformity with the law, we may send you an email communication related to marketing or of a promotional nature containing information that you may find useful, in particular information about services from the AATGQ or third parties with which we conduct business. We will include instructions on how to unsubscribe and let us know if you do not wish to receive marketing or promotional emails from the AATGQ in future. In addition, if you send us an email, we may keep that message and your email address, as well as any response we send to you.

(c) Advertisers

If you provide certain personal information on one of the ATTGQ Web sites in order to request information from a third party (such as an advertiser), we are not responsible for the use that is made of your information by that third party. As a consequence, we suggest that you find out about the privacy policy of this third party by visiting their Web site or by contacting them by regular mail or by phone, before providing them with your personal information.

(d) Hyperlinks

For your convenience, AATGQ’s Web sites sometimes include hyperlinks to Web sites managed by third parties. When you activate these hyperlinks, you leave the ATTGQ Web sites for those of the third parties, which may have privacy protection policies different from our own. The AATGQ refuses all responsibility in regard to the use of these third party Web sites.

(e) Individuals below the age of 18 years

Individuals less than 18 years of age may not provide or post personal information on our Web sites without the permission of their parents or their legal guardian. When participating in a contest, we may ask for the name, address, phone number, email address and date of birth of an individual below the age of 18 years, so that we can notify them if they win the contest. In this case, we will ask for the consent of a parent or guardian in order to gather this information.

8. Copyright

The AATGQ owns the copyright to the documents and graphic elements displayed on its Web sites. The written documents available on our sites may be used, downloaded, printed and reproduced, in part or in whole:

  • If they are used or reproduced exactly, with no modifications
  • If they mention that the Association de l’Agrotourisme et du Tourisme Gourmand du Québec is the source
  • If they are used solely for information purposes and not for commercial purposes.

The reproduction and/or redistribution of any graphic element appearing on our sites is prohibited, without written permission from the AATGQ. To request permission or for further information about how to obtain permission, please contact us.

9. Verification, comment or complaint

The user may wish to know, amend or withdraw the personal information held about him or her in the ATTGQ’s data base. For any verification, comment or complaint in this regard, please write to and provide the information that will allow us to identify it.

10. Modifications to the Privacy Policy

The AATGQ reserves the right to modify or make additions to the present Privacy Policy at any time. If we make modifications to the present Privacy Policy, we will announce these modifications on our Web sites.

11. Jurisdiction

The AATGQ is incorporated under the laws of Québec. The Web sites are maintained and operated by the AATGQ located in the province of Québec, Canada. All disputes arising from or in connection with its Web sites shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts of the Province of Québec.
