A Taste of Honey: A year of innovation and inspiration!
Un Goût de Miel promotes sustainable practices in both agriculture and tourism, with the ambition of welcoming a growing number of groups while reducing its ecological footprint. To achieve this, 3 major innovative and inspiring projects are being implemented in 2025! 🌱
First, a zero-waste café space has been set up. An original initiative distinguishes this space: the participation of 50 tourism businesses from Centre-du-Québec, each represented by a mug with its own image. Visitors can discover the region through these unique mugs.
Then there’s the Participatory Garden, a project designed to bring the community together! Un Goût de Miel opens its doors to people interested in learning how to cultivate a garden on the site of the honey house while breaking isolation. 🐝
Finally, sponsoring a hive ore a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the reservation of nature and the ecosystem, while supporting local and sustainable beekeeping. There are three levels of contribution open to both individuals and companies.

Fromagerie L’Ancêtre: Unique and victorious cheeses
Fromagerie L’Ancêtre marks a new milestone by becoming the first in Canada to display the “grass-fed” certification, in collaboration with Milk Producers of Canada. This guarantees that cows receive at least 75% of their feed in the form of organic grass and forage, and that they spend a minimum of 120 days a year on pasture. This distinction now applies to the 325 g range of mild, medium and strong cheddars, with an extra-strong version expected later this year. This breakthrough earned the cheese dairy the Prix Innovation from the CTAQ, recognition of its commitment to quality and sustainable development! 🐄
What’s more, it celebrates a historic victory by winning three first-place awards at the prestigious CASEUS competition, which recognizes the best cheeses in Quebec. This recognition highlights the excellence and expertise of the cheese dairy, with awards in three categories: Best Cheddar for Organic 2-Year-Old Cheddar, Best Organic Cheese for Organic Old-Fashioned Smoked Cheddar, and Best Reduced-Fat Cheese for Organic Medium Light Cheddar (18% m.g.). An accolade that confirms L’Ancêtre’s commitment to quality! 🧀
