Don't miss this gourmet agritourism itinerary in the Lanaudière region! During your stay in the region, you'll discover people with different skills, but with one thing in common: a passion for their land and its good products. Bison, donkeys, fruit, honey, this getaway will have you wanting to explore all the treasures of Lanaudière!
Bison once lived alongside mammoths. There were millions of them on the Great Plains of America. Josée Toupin and her husband Alain Demontigny, owner-founders of La Terre des Bisons in Rawdon, were charmed by these majestic animals, made for life in a herd. They began their breeding operation 20 years ago with two females and one male. Today, their herd numbers around a hundred animals, living peacefully in a vast area where they eat in the pasture as they please, naturally. On site, visitors can hike a 1.2 km trail to observe the impressive bison, as well as the elk that were welcomed to the land two years ago. At the boutique, you can buy different cuts of bison meat, as well as Tartins, tasty cretonnades and terrines made from bison and elk. A visit the whole family will long remember!

Josiane Cormier takes over from her father André Cormier at the family market-garden farm in l'Assomption. Just as his father, Albani, took over from Josiane, so too do six other generations, from Albani to Joseph, Alfred, Urgel, Benjamin and finally François Cormier, the first to cultivate the land in 1790. Passionate about farming, André and Josiane cultivate their land responsibly, without unnecessary use of chemical inputs. They sell the fruits and vegetables from their harvests directly at the farm, where you can buy, according to the season: asparagus, strawberries, raspberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, corn, pumpkins and more. Ferme André Cormier also has a kitchen where produce from their fields can be transformed into pies, cakes, marinades, jams and other mouth-watering delights.
